Korenica is a town on the western edge of Korenicko Polje (Korenica Field) in Lika. Chief occupations are farming, wood processing and building. It is a cultural and historical centre of this part of Lika. The town is located at the intersection of the main road Karlovac - Zadar and the regional road Licki Osik - Korenica. The vicinity of the Plitvice Lakes is of great importance for Korenica because visitors often come to the well-known boarding house "Borje". Korenica is also a starting point to Mt. Gola Pljesivica.
